Glass-epoxy tubes are made by winding on metal cores saturated with epoxy composition of glass fibre. The tube structure is programmed. The direction of fibre layering in the layers depends on the type of loads carried by the tube, most frequently bending and torsion.
Tubes are characterized by a high anisotropy of mechanical and electrical properties.
Due to excellent electrical insulation properties and a high mechanical strength, they are widely used in power engineering for indoor use as elements of HV protective equipment or as insulating and structural elements of devices and equipment used in HV switchgear.
The Company offers the following types of tubes:
- general purpose tubes designed for bending, internal diameter range:
Ø16 to Ø52 mm and length up to 2260 mm compliant with ZN-04/RSE-1;
- insulation tubes filled with foam for voltages exceeding 1 kV, compliant with
insulation pipes;
- hollow insulation tubes for voltages exceeding 1 kV, compliant with PN-EN 61235;
- other, as specified by the customer.

D – external tube diameter specified by the customer, where the minimum wall should be not less than 2 mm thick for diameters up to 70 mm and 4 mm thick for diameters over 70 mm. |
|||||
The maximum tube length is specified in the table. At the customer’s request, tubes can be manufactured with lower lengths than specified above. |
